Several servicemen were injured in a drone attack on Kuwaiti National Guard facilities, the emirate's Ministry of Defense announced.

According to a statement published in X, “in the past 24 hours, the armed forces have detected and destroyed seven enemy unmanned aerial vehicles in Kuwaiti airspace“.

“The Iranian attack was aimed at several important National Guard facilities, as a result of which several servicemen were injured, who are currently receiving treatment and are in stable condition. The attack also caused significant material damage,“ the Ministry of Defense reported.

Kuwait's airspace will remain closed for at least another 12 hours, a source in Middle Eastern air traffic control circles said.

“The airspace will remain closed for another 12 hours – until 4:00 UTC (7:00 Bulgarian time) on Saturday, April 11“, the source said, emphasizing that this deadline is preliminary. He also did not rule out the possibility of the ban being extended further.

Earlier, following the ceasefire between the US and Iran, Iraq, Syria and Bahrain opened their airspace to civil aviation. Bahrain is ready to receive aircraft and allow transit after prior approval. Partial restrictions remain in place in Qatari and UAE airspace.
