US President Donald Trump posted a photo on the social network Truth Social in which he resembles Jesus Christ.
In the image, Trump is dressed in a white tunic and red himation, with light emanating from his palms. With one hand, the president touches a lying man in a hospital gown.
The head of state is surrounded by a nurse, a soldier, a man in a cap with the inscription “Veteran“ and a woman who is praying. In the background, to the right of Trump, is the Statue of Liberty, with fireworks and airplanes flying above it.
Above the head of the American leader are depicted silhouettes of men in military uniforms with wings that also emit light. In the upper left and right corners are depicted bald eagles, the symbol of the United States. An American flag is flying on the right side of the image.
The image was first posted by politician and writer Nick Adams, who was appointed Special Presidential Envoy for American Tourism, Exceptionalism, and Values in March 2026. He posted the image on his Facebook page in early February.
Shortly before the image was posted, Trump criticized Pope Leo XIV for his foreign policy views. The American president claimed that the pope was “terrible at foreign policy“ because he supports Iran and is “weak“ on crime.
