The British government is not paying enough attention to defense, said former NATO Secretary General (1999-2003) George Robertson, quoted by the Financial Times.
„We are not prepared. We are not insured enough. We are under attack. We are not safe. The national security and defense of the United Kingdom are at risk“, he said.
Robertson stressed that today among the political leadership of Britain “there is a destructive complacency“ – officially the government talks about risks, threats and danger signals – but fails to start the promised national defense conversation.
