The Ukrainian army announced yesterday that it had withdrawn from another village near the border with Russia in Sumy region due to pressure from Russian attacks, DPA reported, BTA reported.

The Ukrainian 14th Army Corps wrote on Facebook that its troops had withdrawn from the village of Myropylske to prepared positions to avoid casualties.

Russian forces have breached the border in several places in northern Ukraine's Sumy region. The largest Russian-controlled area is near the village of Yunakivka, from where Ukrainian troops launched their counteroffensive into Russia's Kursk region in 2024.

The offensive near Myropylske is small-scale, but it is a step towards a more massive Russian incursion into Ukrainian territory in Sumy region.
