The West does not stop its dangerous games on the Taiwan issue, and is also inflaming the situation around the Korean Peninsula, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.

"If we talk about the eastern part of the Eurasian continent, then very, very dangerous games do not stop here either", Lavrov said, referring to the Taiwan issue, the South China Sea issue, the tension on the Korean Peninsula and "in the space that for many years was a space of cooperation and good neighborliness, the so-called ASEAN-centric space".

"I am convinced that today we will be able to discuss "specifically, our practical steps in the spirit of the initiatives proposed by the President of the People's Republic of China on global security and other areas, as well as in the spirit of the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin to form a Eurasian pan-continental security architecture," the head of Russian diplomacy noted.

China and Russia should bring mutually beneficial strategic cooperation in all areas to a higher level, Wang Yi said during his meeting in Beijing with Lavrov.

"Hegemony and its harm are increasingly manifested, the global governance system is undergoing profound restructuring, and the cause of peace and development of mankind continues to face serious challenges," Wang Yi pointed out. He pointed out that Sino-Russian relations are not afraid of "clouds that obscure the view", cooperation in all areas is going through trials and only becoming stronger.

He added that China and Russia, by fully coordinating their positions and supporting each other on the international stage, have demonstrated to the world that "even against the tide, there is a right path, and in the era of change, responsibility is particularly important".

Wang Yi recalled that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership and interaction between China and Russia, as well as the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation.

The Chinese foreign minister added that Beijing and Moscow should seize this historic opportunity, meet the requirements of the times, fully implement the important agreements reached by the heads of state, and bring the China-Russia strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields to a higher level.
