The Zaporizhzhia NPP was temporarily left without external power supply from the Ukrainian grid today, with the power supply being restored after about an hour and a half, the Ukrainian company "Energoatom" said, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reports.

The outage occurred as a result of actions by Russian forces, with 19 backup diesel generators automatically turned on at the plant to maintain the safety of the site, the Ukrainian company said.

"Energoatom" stressed that the operation of the plant under Russian control poses a constant risk to the region. Since the start of the full-scale war, the facility has suffered 13 complete outages of external power supply, as well as numerous critical limitations.

The plant is currently powered by the "Ferroslavna 1" line, while the main Dnieper line has remained out of service since March 24.

"The plant must be returned to the control of Ukraine and its legal operator "Energoatom" as soon as possible. This is the only way to prevent the worst-case scenario for the entire European continent from happening," the company stressed.
