Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Turkey, said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andriy Sibiga.
According to him, a possible meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia could be held with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and possibly US President Donald Trump.
This is not the first time that Zelensky has proposed such a format for talks. On May 13, 2025, the Ukrainian head of state announced his readiness for a meeting in Istanbul, but only if Putin personally participated in it.
The next day, a Ukrainian delegation arrived in Istanbul for negotiations, but the Russian delegation never showed up.
Later, Putin invited Zelensky to a meeting in Moscow, but the Ukrainian president rejected the offer.
The Russian leader subsequently stated again that Moscow's position remained unchanged and a meeting between the two presidents was possible only after a ready-made agreement was drawn up.
At the same time, Russia continues to claim that Zelensky is illegitimate.
