US President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility of Washington resuming military action against the Islamic Republic if negotiations with Iran fail.

„I may not extend the truce. The blockade is in place and unfortunately we will have to start bombing again,” he said in response to a reporter’s question about the possibility of extending the ceasefire if Washington and Tehran do not reach an agreement before it expires on Wednesday.

Trump said that the possibility of using force against Cuba depends on what is defined as “military action.”

“It depends on what is defined as military action,” he said in response to a question about whether the United States could use military force against Cuba. The president spoke to reporters on his plane en route to Washington.

The US president expressed hope that his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping would be historic.

“President Xi is very pleased that the Strait of Hormuz is open or opening quickly. Our meeting in China will be special and potentially historic. I look forward to meeting with President Xi – much will be accomplished“, he wrote on Truth Social.

The US leader's visit to Beijing is scheduled for May 14-15.
