US President Donald Trump said today that Iran "cannot blackmail" the United States after the Islamic Republic announced it would resume its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, Agence France-Presse reported.
“They wanted to close the strait again“, Trump told reporters at the White House, referring to Iran's leaders. “They can't blackmail us“, the US president added.
Trump also said there were "very good talks" aimed at a permanent cessation of hostilities in the Middle East. “Actually, things are going very well and we'll know more by the end of the day. "We are talking to them and taking a firm position," he said.
