Ukrainian Armed Forces Attack Russian Black Sea City of Tuapse with Drones, One Dead

The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a massive attack on the Russian city of Tuapse. One man was killed and another injured in a drone strike on the seaport.

This was reported by Veniamin Kondratyev, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory.

„Tuapse was subjected to another massive drone attack tonight. As a result, according to preliminary information, one man was killed in the seaport. I express my deepest condolences to the family. Another man was injured and is receiving all necessary medical care," he wrote on his Max channel.

“It is also currently known that debris from drones damaged the windows of a number of buildings in the city, including a primary school and kindergarten, a museum, a church, an apartment building and a gas pipeline,“ the governor added.

Tuapse is an important port and industrial city in Russia, located on the eastern coast of the Black Sea in the Krasnodar Territory.

The city is located at the foot of the southern slope of the Main Caucasus Range, between the large resort centers of Sochi and Gelendzhik.

Tuapse is one of Russia's key oil ports on the Black Sea. The city is home to a large oil refinery owned by the company “Rosneft“. It is an important railway station and road junction along the Black Sea coast.

The oil refinery and port infrastructure in Tuapse have been the target of several drone attacks in the context of the military conflict in the region.
