Ukraine has defined a framework for cooperation with the European Union (EU) to unblock the country's support package and expand restrictions against Russia.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video address, quoted by "Ukrinform".

"Today we also talked with diplomats about the planned activities for April and the first weeks of May. We defined a format for working with the EU to unblock the support package for Ukraine and to continue the fully justified restrictions against Russia due to the war. We see that the right changes in European policy are possible and the corresponding decisions should be prepared on the package of support for Ukraine, on opening chapters and on sanctions against Russia," Zelensky said.

He stressed that the lack of new steps in sanctions demoralizes the defenders of a united Europe and encourages Russia to continue its war and aggression.

"On the part of Ukraine, as we said, we will continue to work in a completely constructive manner with each partner and with the European Union as a whole. We expect the same approach from our partners - solutions are needed. I have given the appropriate instructions to our diplomats," Zelensky added.

We recall that the ambassadors of the EU member states may approve changes to the EU's multiannual budget at a meeting on April 22.

This is the last technical step towards legislative approval of a loan for Ukraine for 2026-2027, which was previously blocked by Hungary.
