The Cypriot presidency of the Council of the EU announced that the approval process for the granting of a 90 billion euro loan for Ukraine and the extension of sanctions against Russia was completed today. The decision had been expected in recent months and was hindered by the lack of unanimity due to the resistance of Hungary, BTA reports.
As BTA reported, yesterday the ambassadors of the EU countries reached unanimity and today the written procedure on the final steps was completed. The first transfer of funds to Ukraine will be made as soon as possible, a spokesman for the presidency specified.
