The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they had attacked loaded Hezbollah rocket launchers in three areas of southern Lebanon.
“Overnight, the IDF struck loaded and ready-to-fire Hezbollah rocket launchers in the Deir el-Zahrani, Reman and al-Saamiya areas of southern Lebanon, north of the Forward Defense Line“, an IDF press release said.
The military claims that these rocket launchers pose an imminent threat to IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians.
In April, Israel and Lebanon began direct talks to normalize relations. A ceasefire was previously announced between Israel and the Lebanese movement Hezbollah. However, both sides regularly accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.
