14 people have died in a plane crash near Juba in South Sudan.

According to information from the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority, all on board the passenger plane are dead.

The Cessna 208 Caravan, operated by CityLink Aviation, which took off from Yei Airport for Juba, lost contact after half an hour of flight, authorities said. The plane crashed 20 kilometers from Juba. The distance between the two cities is 170 kilometers.

There were 13 passengers and one pilot on board – 12 South Sudanese and two Kenyans.

Preliminary data suggests that poor visibility may have contributed to the crash.

Search operations are underway at the crash site.
