Russian President Vladimir Putin received a report from Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov on the situation in Tuapse after Ukrainian drone strikes, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, TASS reported, BTA reports.
The head of state has instructed Kurenkov to fly to the site and monitor the extinguishing of the fire, Reuters reported.
"Vladimir Putin received a report by phone from Emergency Situations Minister Kurenkov on the renewed fires in Tuapse after Ukrainian drone strikes", the Kremlin spokesman said. "On the instructions of the head of state, Kurenkov is leaving for Tuapse in the coming hours to monitor the extinguishing of fires at oil storage facilities and their consequences," Peskov added.
Meanwhile, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said today that the supply of drones from Europe to Kiev for strikes on Russian territory could lead to unpredictable consequences, Reuters reported, citing Interfax.
Earlier in April, the Russian Defense Ministry said it believed that governments in a number of EU countries had decided to increase the production and supply of drones to Ukraine, a move that Moscow sees as a step that escalates the conflict, Reuters recalls.
