Israel has transferred high-tech weapons systems, including an advanced laser, to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to defend against Iranian missiles and drones, the Financial Times reports, citing its sources.

According to them, it is a lightweight surveillance system called Spectro, which can detect approaching drones at a distance of up to 20 kilometers.

According to another source familiar with the deployment, Israel has also sent a version of the Iron Beam laser air defense system to the UAE.

The laser, which is said to vaporize short-range missiles and drones, was first deployed by Israel earlier this year to defend against Hezbollah projectiles flying from Lebanon.

The US and Israel began striking targets in Iran on February 28. Iran retaliated by striking Israeli territory as well as US military facilities in the Middle East.
