At least 32 people were killed in the past 24 hours as a result of Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, despite a ceasefire established on April 17.

The Health Ministry said another 74 Lebanese were wounded.

“The total number of civilians killed since the start of the military escalation on March 2 has reached 2,618, and 8,094 have been wounded“, the ministry said in a statement distributed to X.

The Health Ministry expects the death toll to rise in the coming hours as Israel continues to attack villages that serve as strongholds for the Shiite organization Hezbollah.

Israel continues and even intensifies its military actions against “Hezbollah“, stating that they are excluded from the announced ceasefire between the US and Iran.

In the last 24 hours alone, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has hit over 40 “Hezbollah“ targets, including headquarters and military infrastructure.

On May 1, new strikes were reported on the town of Haboush, killing six people, despite evacuation orders.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) maintain a presence in southern Lebanon, where they are seeking to create a 10-kilometer “buffer zone“. Over 1,000 of the group's facilities have been destroyed in the past week, including camouflaged weapons depots and rocket launchers.

"Hezbollah" continues to attack Israeli positions with drones and missiles. On May 1, a drone wounded two Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon, and six other drones were fired at northern Israel, most of which were intercepted.

The Israeli government maintains that Lebanon is outside the scope of a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran.

The Lebanese president has condemned these actions as violations of international law, and the UN has reported that more than 2,500 people have died since the conflict began in March.

About 20% of Lebanon's population (over 1 million people) has been displaced by the fighting.

The Israeli command estimates that operations could continue at least until the end of May 2026, with the aim of finally neutralizing “Hezbollah“ infrastructure.
