Russian President Vladimir Putin received Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico at the Kremlin, Agence France-Presse reported.
Fico is the only European leader who arrived in Moscow during the Victory Day celebrations on May 9, 1945.
“Your consistent position in favor of preserving historical truth deserves respect”, Putin said at the beginning of their meeting and appreciated the “sovereign foreign policy” that the Slovak government is trying to conduct.
