Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned the European Union (EU) after the bloc decided to impose sanctions on some Israeli settlers over violence against Palestinians, AFP reports.
"While Israel and the US do the "dirty work" for Europe, fighting for civilization against jihadist lunatics in Iran and elsewhere, the EU has exposed its moral bankruptcy by making a false symmetry between Israeli citizens and Hamas terrorists," the official X account of Netanyahu's office said.
The EU is ready to approve sanctions against extremist Israeli settlers after Hungary's new government signaled it would no longer block the measure, EU foreign policy chief Kaia Kalas said earlier.
