The armed forces of the Islamic Republic have officially moved from defensive to offensive (offensive, offensive) military doctrine after the recent fighting in the Persian Gulf region. This was announced by the Iranian army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, quoted by YeniŞafak.
According to General Akraminia, the country's military concept, which in the past was entirely defensive in nature, has gradually changed during the recent conflicts with the US and Israel during the so-called ''12-day'' and ''40-day''' wars.
''In the past, our country's military doctrine was defensive, but gradually during these two wars we witnessed the transition of the military doctrine from a defensive to an offensive position'', said Akraminia.
According to him, the complete change in the military strategy of the Islamic Republic is already manifested in practice through the speed of reaction, the increased scale of responsible actions and the active implementation of preemptive strikes against enemy forces.
Bounty for killing American soldiers
''The army has prepared a plan offering financial rewards for killing or capturing American soldiers in the event of a ground invasion of Iranian territory'', Akraminia also said.
Members of the armed forces or civilians who possess legally hunting weapons, will receive 5 billion tomans — approximately $26,000 — for killing or capturing American soldiers who have entered Iran, he said.
''The reward will be doubled to 10 billion tomans, about $53,000, if the act is committed by a woman'', he added.
Weapons buyback program
''Under the announced program, the Iranian army will start buying used weapons at double the price'. The weapons will be stored in a military museum in the owner's name, and the person will receive a similar weapon in return'' the Iranian spokesman explained.
Reaction to any external provocation
Another key dimension of the offensive doctrine is the guaranteed immediate response to any provocation. According to Akraminia, any enemy act of aggression will inevitably be followed by an immediate response, which in its scale can significantly exceed the initial attack.
Akraminia also stated that US influence in the Middle East has declined sharply due to the defense and security mechanism created by Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan.
He added that regardless of its future effectiveness, the mechanism demonstrates the decline of the US position in the region, and described it as the first regional defense and security mechanism without US participation.
