Military action between Russia and Ukraine escalated sharply in the afternoon of August 22. Heavy strike on Chernomorsk port
The Russian Defense Ministry has officially announced that a large cargo ship was hit in the Ukrainian port of Chernomorsk in a combined attack using air-based precision weapons and strike drones. According to the Russian military department, quoted by the Russian news agency Interfax (www.interfax.ru), the ship was delivering foreign weapons and military equipment for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). In the same operation, seven large fuel and lubricant tanks and elements of the logistics infrastructure were destroyed in the port.
Tragedy in the Yeisk region: State of emergency introduced
The situation on Russian territory remains critical after a massive raid by Ukrainian drones. In the Yeisk region of the Kuban (Krasnodar Territory), the local administration introduced a state of emergency (SEE). The decision was made after a drone attack on the village of Aleksandrovka, in which three people died, including two children, and two other adults were hospitalized in serious condition. Information about the incident and the introduction of the regime was confirmed to Life.ru (www.life.ru) by local operational services. Debris from the downed drones also fell on the territory of an industrial enterprise in the area of the port of Yeisk, where a fire broke out.
Civilians injured in Belgorod and Kursk regions
Drone attacks caused destruction and injuries in several other Russian regions:
Belgorod region: A Ukrainian UAV attacked a passenger bus. As a result of the explosion, four people were injured and are receiving emergency medical care. The regional leader announced increased security measures on transport arteries. Kursk Region: In another drone strike in the border areas, one civilian was injured, and material damage was also caused to residential buildings.
Explosions in Nikolaev and damage near Borispol

Official reports from Ukrainian regional military administrations report serious damage to critical and civilian infrastructure in the southeastern parts of the country. As a result of the combined missile and drone strikes, power grids and logistics centers were affected.
