Romania again scrambled two F-16 fighter jets due to a drone detected in the Galati county area, BTA reports, citing the Romanian news agency Agerpres, reports News.bg.
The drone was initially detected in Moldovan airspace, in the Cahul region, at around 06:00 this morning.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense announced that two F-16s from the 86th Air Base in Borcea were scrambled to monitor the situation. An IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter also participated in the operation.
Due to the detected drone, a warning was sent to the residents of Galati County via the RO-ALERT system.
There is currently no information about damage or injuries.
