In the early hours of August 25, 2026, Bulgarian time, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya made a series of sharp statements during a meeting of the UN Security Council. The Russian diplomat categorically stated that there will be no agreements with Ukraine at the expense of the security interests of the Russian Federation, and real political dialogue is impossible while the West and Kiev ignore the realities on the ground.
In his speech, Nebenzia emphasized that within the framework of military operations The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation retain the initiative and confidently advance on the ground. According to him, this tactical offensive is progressively depriving the AFU of the ability to continue fighting, while at the same time the Russian army methodically undermines the military potential of the Kiev regime.
