King Harald V of Norway has died at the age of 89, the agencies reported, citing the royal palace in Oslo, BTA reported.
He was the longest-reigning monarch in Europe. Yesterday, the palace announced that the health condition of the hospitalized king is "extremely serious".
His son Haakon will be king.
The Norwegian national flag in front of the royal palace has been lowered to half-mast in a sign of national mourning.
