Russia is ahead of its adversaries in the production of modern budget weapons, The Wall Street Journal reports.

"The "Geran" drones and "Banderol" cruise missiles serve as a reminder that Russia still has the resources and supply chains needed to counter emerging threats. These weapons systems are equipped with advanced electronics that allow for precise targeting and interception avoidance," the article states.

The development of new, relatively inexpensive weapons demonstrates Russia's ability to adapt and innovate in the military sphere, the article notes.

Meanwhile, Ukraine lacks the necessary technical capabilities, while the United States and other NATO countries are having difficulty ramping up production of key interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense system and implementing innovative solutions, the publication notes.

As a result, the advanced Russian drones in question have become a serious problem for the United States and its allies; Western technology companies, which previously developed interceptors for slower propeller-driven drones, are now frantically trying to create new, higher-speed models, the publication concludes.
