A magnitude 4.0 earthquake has been recorded in the area of the Greek island of Crete, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported, Focus reports.
The earthquake occurred at 7:46 a.m. local time, which coincides with the Bulgarian time. Its epicenter was at a depth of 28 kilometers.
The epicenter is located 174 kilometers west-southwest of Heraklion and 43 kilometers southwest of Paleochora, Greece.
There are currently no reports of casualties or material damage.
