The Kremlin's official statements. While the fire at “Crocus City Hall” was still raging, Russian authorities blamed Ukraine for the terrorist attack with absolutely no evidence. Despite the fact that the suspects of the terrorist attack turned out to be Tajik citizens linked to the "Islamic State", and the group itself claimed responsibility, the Kremlin did not give up on the "Ukrainian trail". Although this version is so untenable that even Putin's inner circle does not believe it, it fits perfectly into the overall picture of Russian propaganda designed to demonize Ukraine. The investigation itself and the official statements of the authorities conformed to this version, and Russian propagandists were instructed to spread it as much as possible in the media. It is possible that the Kremlin will use the incident to rally society and announce mobilization for the front. It is also worth noting that Putin did not address the nation on the day of the attack, but only almost 24 hours later. The Kremlin spent almost an entire day looking for evidence of Ukraine's involvement, but failed to find any.
The Fourth Oddity
The terrorist route. The alleged perpetrators of the terrorist attack did not change their car when they fled, even though it was already wanted, making their escape almost impossible.
Gunmen, after leaving Moscow, could easily hide in a forest belt in the Moscow region, after which they could change vehicles several times. However, they did not do this and decided to break through to the border with a car that the law enforcement officers were looking for. They are stopped only after 300 kilometers. Why were they allowed to get this far? Putin claims that the terrorists initially went to the Ukrainian border because there was an open "window" for them. Belarusian dictator Lukashenko later invalidated Putin's version, saying the attackers wanted to go to Belarus first.
The Fifth Oddity
The reaction of the Russian authorities to the terrorist attack. Russian security services failed to prepare for the terrorist attack, failed to prevent it, or failed to eliminate the terrorists at the scene of the crime. It is not known where the terrorists got the weapons and how many there actually were. Authorities did not release surveillance video.
