Temperatures in some parts of mainland Greece will rise above 30 degrees Celsius in the coming days, when an extremely warm air mass from Africa will move over the country and Eastern Europe, reports Kathimerini, quoted by BTA.
The Meteorological Service at the National Observatory in Athens informs that the heat wave will continue until Tuesday.
Temperatures in Eastern Europe are expected to rise 17-18 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average. On Monday, temperatures in mainland Greece will be 15-16 degrees above normal, and in some places will exceed 30 degrees Celsius, the newspaper informed.
