Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that the strikes in Damascus, for which Israel is blamed, "will not go unanswered,", France Press reported, BTA reported.
In the airstrikes against the consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus, seven members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were killed. "Day after day we witness the strengthening of the resistance front and the disgust and hatred of free peoples for the illegitimate character" of Israel "and this despicable crime will not go unanswered", the Iranian president added.
Raisi condemned the "inhuman, aggressive and vile act of invasion", calling it a "gross violation of international rules". Beijing also condemned the attack on the consular department of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, in which eleven people were killed the previous day in the Syrian capital, recalling the inviolability of diplomatic buildings.
"China condemns this attack," said Chinese diplomatic spokesman Wang Wenbin. "The security of diplomatic institutions cannot be violated and the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria must be respected," he added.
