This is what former US ambassador to NATO and former special representative of Washington for Ukraine Kurt Volker told telegraf.com.ua. This is how he commented on the information that came out recently that the US urged Kiev not to attack targets on Russian territory for fear of escalating the war.
Such a strange call to say the least shows that the politics of the US and other Western countries is driven by fear. Kurt Volker pointed out that Russia is trying to overturn the 75-year international order of peace, prosperity and security. He is adamant that NATO must have a military strategy to ensure the loss of Vladimir Putin in Ukraine.
„Putin has no intention of conducting serious negotiations now. He tries to conquer as many territories as possible. He wants to eliminate the Ukrainian authorities and destroy the sense of Ukrainian cultural, historical, national identity. It's not something you can negotiate,”, Kurt Volker said.
„The West must understand that aid to Ukraine is not charity. It is in our own interest to restore the foundations of peace, prosperity and security in Europe and the world. We really depend on it,” said Volcker, who said there is a risk of the outbreak of World War III if Putin wins in Ukraine.
