Russian dictator Vladimir Putin seeks to take over all of Ukraine. And the insufficient number of air defense systems in our country only encourages it. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
„Putin only understands force. He behaves like an animal: if you can't protect yourself, he will destroy even more," Zelensky said in an interview with Germany's BILD.
Zelensky recently admitted that without US support it would be difficult for Ukraine not only to win, but even to survive. In an interview with BILD, he explained what this would mean. “He (Putin) will destroy everything. It will kill a lot of people. Most people won't run away, so he'll kill a lot of them. What will this look like? There will be a lot of blood. There will be many victims, many losses, we are talking about hundreds of thousands," the president said.
Speaking of the need for weapons, Zelensky noted that Ukraine first of all needs air defense. He added that Ukraine has a good production of drones, but "unmanned aircraft are not a substitute for air defense, long-range missiles and artillery".
Kiev is calling on its Western allies to continue supplying it with weapons in order not to lose the war. In the US Congress, the $60 billion military aid package requested by the Joe Biden administration continues to be blocked by Republicans. This aid is vital for Ukraine, which has been waging a full-scale war against the Russian aggressor for the third year.
