Disaster floods caused by seasonal rains in Afghanistan claim at least thirty-three lives people, and the injured within three days are twenty-seven, reported the Associated Press, quoted by BTA, referring to a statement by a Taliban spokesman from yesterday.

Abdullah Janan Saik, a spokesman for the Ministry of Natural Disaster Management, said flash floods had hit the capital, Kabul, as well as several provinces. According to his data, more than six hundred homes were either destroyed or damaged, while two hundred heads of livestock drowned.

Floods also damaged eight hundred hectares of agricultural land, cutting off more than eighty-five kilometers of the road network, Saik added.

He explained that the most affected were the provinces of Kandahar and Herat, as well as the western part of Farah and the southern territories of Zabul.
