Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky renewed his calls for active support of the West for his country against the Russian invasion, giving as an example the Western support for Israel during the attack by Iran, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.

It is clear that not all Ukrainian facilities can be protected from attacks, Zelensky wrote in "Telegram" after a meeting of the Supreme Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. "However, the intensity of the Russian attacks requires greater unity," the Ukrainian president added.

By defending Israel, the free world has shown that unity is not only possible, but also 100 percent effective, Zelensky said. "The decisive actions of the allies thwarted the success of terror and the loss of infrastructure, bringing the aggressor to his senses,", the Ukrainian leader wrote, referring to Iran's unprecedented attack on Israel over the weekend.

The same can be done to protect Ukraine from terror, which, like Israel, is not a member of NATO. " And this does not require the triggering of Article 5, but only political will," Zelensky pointed out.

According to Article 5 of the NATO Charter, an attack against one member state "shall be considered an attack against all members of the alliance". Zelensky already called yesterday, a few hours after the coverage of Iran's attack on Israel, for Ukraine to be given the same support as the Jewish state.
