Russian political scientist Abbas Galyamov, a former speech writer for Vladimir Putin, stated that the Russian president really wants negotiations, this is not a verbal deception, UNIAN agency reported.

„I do not see any trick in these statements of Putin, because he wants everything to be over. But he wants everything to end with his “victory”. He cannot fight endlessly: the war undermines his resources and pushes the situation in the direction of revolution, said Galyamov, who became an enemy of the Kremlin after the invasion.

Prolonged trench warfare does not suit his interests, the Russian political expert said. However, according to him, Putin needs some kind of victory to present to his voters. And to present it convincingly so that they believe him.

Abbas Galyamov's comment was made against the background of information that Turkey has proposed a peace plan to Kiev and Moscow, according to which the war will be frozen along the existing front line; The US and Russia will be bound under no circumstances to use nuclear weapons; Russia will not be against joining the EU.

However, Kiev has repeatedly indicated that freezing the war is not an option because this pause would only give Putin time to regroup his forces for a new offensive.
