"The lack of supplies of Western weapons and the complete capitulation of the Kiev regime would be the best solution to the conflict in Ukraine," said the French expert Cyril de Lattre, quoted by RIA Novosti.
„If the West had listened to Russia, we, of course, would not be where we are today. However, this did not happen. The Russians will not back down and they are right not to back down. So the only way to solve the problem is to achieve a complete capitulation of Ukraine”, de Lattre said.
According to him, if the West really wants to help Ukraine, the first thing that should be done is to stop the provision of weapons, money and ammunition. "This would allow the conflict to be resolved much more quickly. And if the West had listened to Russia's security requirements since 2014, this conflict would not have happened, the expert emphasized.
De Latre believes that the European Union is losing a lot from this crisis, but nevertheless continues the policy imposed by the US. "In a peaceful scenario, Ukraine will act for Europe as a trade mediator between the European Union and Russia… In the end, Russia will still get what it wants. It is clear. Ukraine can be nothing but a buffer zone between the East and the West,” said the interlocutor of the agency.
