Today, the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and security Josep Borrell said during a press conference after the joint meeting in Luxembourg of the European ministers of defense and foreign affairs that deliveries of 155 mm projectiles to Ukraine are expected to begin at the end of May and the beginning of June, BTA reported.

It is urgent that the EU and other allies provide Ukraine with ammunition and air defense systems, he added. Borel has repeatedly emphasized that there is a need for full system equipment in order for Ukrainian air defense to be improved. Decisions on the provision of these systems are in the hands of European governments and I am sure they will be taken soon, the High Representative pointed out.

According to him, the Ukrainian side announced today that since the beginning of the year alone, Russia has launched 7,000 guided missiles against Ukraine, which means 60 per day and does not take into account the amount of drones and other airstrikes. Borel noted that several EU countries have today expressed their willingness to provide Ukraine with air defense systems.

The High Representative announced that at today's meeting a decision was reached to extend the sanctions against Iran. Missiles are also expected to be included in the list of measures imposed due to the provision of Iranian drones to Russia, with the scope expected to be extended to supplies to countries in the Middle East.
