After a drone attack by Ukraine, a fire broke out at energy facilities in Russia's Smolensk region and people were evacuated from parts of Lipetsk in the southwestern part of Russia after an unmanned aircraft fell on an industrial park, Reuters and BTA reported, citing statements from regional authorities.

"Our region has been attacked again by Ukrainian drones," said the governor of the Smolensk region Vasyl Anokhin in "Telegram". "As a result of the enemy attack on civilian fuel and energy facilities, a fire broke out in the regions of Smolensk and Yartsevo," he added.

It was not immediately known what facilities were set on fire. There are no large oil refineries in the Smolensk region, notes Reuters.

An unmanned aerial vehicle also fell on an industrial zone in Russia's Lipetsk region, reported in "Telegram" the governor of the district Igor Artamonov. No injuries were reported, but residents of nearby settlements were evacuated as a precaution.
