Montenegro is a leader in European integration and Slovenia will offer it support until the end of the road , which leads in the European Union, Slovenian President Natasha Pirc Musar said during a meeting with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic in Podgorica, MINA and BTA agencies reported.
Pirts Musar arrived yesterday on a working visit to Montenegro at the invitation of his Montenegrin colleague Yakov Milatovic.
„Montenegro is a leader in European integration, and your government accelerated the train to the EU,” commented Pirc Musar during his conversation with Spaich.
In her words, Slovenia's experience can best speak for the importance of EU membership.
„Since we became part of the EU 20 years ago, the GDP (gross domestic product) per capita has practically doubled”, noted Pirc Mussar.
The Montenegrin Prime Minister pointed out that Slovenia's support is extremely important, especially at key moments.
„The rule of law has started to reach the level at which it is expected to function,”, noted Spaich. “The appointment of professionals to the important positions is of the utmost importance, and the adoption of the law against money laundering and the financing of terrorism represents a departure from some negative practices of the past“.
The two talked about the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries. Spaich also presented the reforms that the government is preparing to remove the "barriers" in front of the business.
