Ukraine reported a new wave of Russian missile attacks last night after US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced arms orders for Kiev to the American military industry in the amount of 6 billion dollars, BNR reported.
Several groups of cruise missiles were registered in the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine. Another rocket attack has passed through the northern part of Kyiv Oblast in a western direction. The Ukrainian Air Force reported rockets over Zhytomyr Oblast in the direction of Khmelnytsky Oblast. There was a report of resounding explosions in the Lviv region. At 6:00 a.m. cancellation of the air alert was announced.
One patient was injured after an air strike with two S-300 missiles on the territory of a hospital in a district of Kharkiv. Several buildings in the medical complex were affected, and patients had to be moved to another building.
In the coming years, Ukraine will receive ammunition for the "Patriot" anti-aircraft systems. and NASAMS, anti-drone systems, precision-guided munitions and armored vehicles, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said.
"I am pleased to announce an additional commitment under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative that will allow us to provide new capabilities for the Ukrainian military from American industry. This is the largest security package we have undertaken to date," he added.
Belgium will deliver F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine already this year, and not in 2025, as it had promised, according to Belgian media. The Netherlands, Denmark and Norway also promised dozens of fighter jets for Kiev. Spain will send missiles for anti-aircraft systems "Patriot".
