The inauguration of a new term of Vladimir Putin as President of the Russian Federation will take place today, 7 May, bTV reported.

The event caused many comments among the first diplomats of the European Union countries.

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry called on Kiev's international allies not to recognize Vladimir Putin as the legitimate president of Russia and to boycott the ceremony.

„Ukraine does not see any legal grounds to recognize him as the democratically elected and legitimate president of the Russian Federation,", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said in a statement.

Which countries will have representatives at the ceremony and which will not?

„The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Moscow Atanas Krastin will be outside the Russian Federation for personal reasons and will not attend tomorrow's inauguration ceremony of President Putin”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced after an inquiry by bTV.

Representatives of the Czech Republic and Estonia will not attend the upcoming ceremony, the foreign ministers of the respective countries confirmed on May 5. Germany, Latvia and Lithuania will also boycott the event.

German Ambassador to Russia Alexander Graf Lambsdorff was recalled for consultations after Berlin accused Moscow of conducting cyberattacks against defense and aircraft-related companies as well as the ruling Social Democratic Party.

„Estonia cannot legitimize diplomatic relations with an aggressor state, and we have decided not to attend Putin's inauguration ceremony,” said a spokesman for Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna.
