Federal Judge Eileen Cannon has postponed the start of the trial in the case against the former US President Donald Trump for the wrong handling of secret documents, BTA reported.
„The Court vacates the current date of May 20, 2024 (and related court dates), to be determined by a separate court ruling,” said the document signed by Judge Cannon, posted on the electronic database of the federal court for the southern district of Florida.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to 40 federal charges of keeping sensitive national security documents at his Mar a Lago Florida estate after he leaves office in 2021 and obstructing the US government's efforts to retrieve them , Reuters recalls.
