New appointments in the Russian government show that Moscow will try to increase its military effort and seeks to restructure its economy for defense needs, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's adviser said today – Mihailo Podoliak, quoted by Reuters, writes BTA.
More than two years after the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, yesterday Russian President Vladimir Putin surprisingly appointed economist Andrey Belousov as Minister of Defense in the new government.
"Russia is finally isolating itself and will try to speed up the war, expand its form, while restructuring its economy,” Podoliak wrote on the Telegram messaging app.
