Russian President Putin today called the attack on Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico a monstrous crime, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
"There can be no justification for such a monstrous crime. I know Robert Fizzo as a manly man with a strong spirit. I very much hope that these qualities will help him survive this difficult situation," Putin said in a telegram to Slovak President Zuzana Chaputova.
Putin also wished Fico the "most recent and complete recovery".
Meanwhile, the Russian ambassador in Bratislava also condemned the attack on Slovakian Prime Minister Fico, according to Reuters.
"I categorically condemn this act of violence and express my conviction in the need to punish the perpetrators," Ambassador Igor Bratchikov stated in a letter to Fico, which the Russian Embassy in Bratislava published on its "Facebook" page.
