Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said today that he had received threats after the attempted assassination of his Slovakian colleague Robert Fico yesterday. At the same time, the local news site “Virtualna Polska“ announced that Tusk's security will be strengthened, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.

„Yesterday there were many similar”, said the Polish Prime Minister on the social network “X“, sharing a screenshot of a comment, also on “X“, which reads: “Today the Slovaks gave us an example of what to do with Tusk” if he decides to abandon investing in a large airport in the central part of the country.

The political atmosphere in Poland has changed in recent years, especially after the assassination in 2019 of the liberal mayor of Gdansk, who was a critic of the migrant policy of the then ruling conservative nationalist party “Law and Justice”, notes Reuters.

„Virtual Poland” reported today, citing a State Security Service source, that Tusk's security will be stepped up following the assassination attempt on Fizo.

A spokesman for the body responsible for protecting important figures in Poland declined to comment, arguing that it was confidential information.

„ Of course, we analyze and draw our conclusions, but we cannot talk about them publicly,” said the country's interior minister, Tomasz Šemoniak.
