The bodies of four migrants were found off the coast of Tunisia in the background of an increase in migration to Europe in recent weeks, reported the Reuters agency, quoted by BTA.
At least 23 migrants have been reported missing after leaving by boat for Italy, the National Guard announced yesterday.
Law enforcement said the coast guard separately rescued 52 migrants. The National Guard arrested nine traffickers and their boats were confiscated.
Tunisia is facing a migration crisis and has replaced Libya as the main point of departure for people fleeing poverty and conflict in Africa and the Middle East in the hope of a better life in Europe, Reuters notes.
