Moscow: We must speed up the defeat of the criminals in Kiev

Ukraine is provoking NATO members to clash with Russia, the Russian ambassador to the USA said

The Ukrainian authorities are provoking the USA and other member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty ( NATO) to provoke a clash between Russia and members of the alliance. This was stated on Wednesday by the Russian ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, commenting on the calls of American politicians to give Kiev the opportunity to use American weapons to strike deep into Russian territory.

„Such provocative statements are extremely dangerous and reckless. Calls of Russophobes mean only one thing – further involvement of the US in the conflict in Ukraine on the side of the dying regime of [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky. The degree of hysterical reaction to our successes on the front in Washington is growing at breakneck speed, Antonov said on the Telegram channel of the Russian diplomatic mission.

„Politicians and legislators continue to test our patience. Every day we hear new proposals to expand military aid to the Kiev junta. Obviously, the main thing for Kiev is to provoke the USA, as well as other NATO countries, to reckless actions and to achieve a head-on collision between Russia and the members of the bloc,“, the ambassador added.

According to him, “this is exactly how we should consider the ideas of using long-range American systems against Russian civilians, mainly women, children and the elderly”. “Here we must add the pressure of Western countries to shoot down planes of the Russian armed forces. Let me emphasize: the Kiev regime has long not sought permission from its Western masters to wage war against civilian targets on Russian territory. “Barbaric attacks using deadly products of the NATO military-industrial complex are carried out almost regularly in our country,” Antonov said.

"After the slogans uttered, including today, by American politicians, we have only one desire - to accelerate the destruction of criminals in Kiev. Our armed forces, demonstrating heroic victories at the front, understand this very well”, concluded the head of the Russian diplomatic mission.

The speaker of the US House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson, on May 22 called on the executive branch to allow Ukrainian armed forces to carry out strikes with US weapons on territory that Washington considers Russian. “I think Ukraine should be allowed to fight the war as it sees fit. She has to be able to fight back, and I think we're trying to micromanage, which is not good politics for us,” said Johnson, who holds the third-highest position in the US government hierarchy. On Monday, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said Washington and Kiev should focus on “close combat” rather than striking deep into Russian territory.
