The Houthis will release today one hundred prisoners who are members of the government forces of Yemen, reported Reuters, cited by BTA, referring to a statement last night by the chairman of the Yemeni rebels' Commission on Prisoners' Affairs, Abdul Qadar Al Murtada.
He clarified that the order for this was issued by the leader of the rebel movement, Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.
The government and the Houthis periodically release people from the other side of the conflict that they keep in prison, Reuters recalls.
Most recently, the Houthis released 70 prisoners last month in exchange for 250 of their associates.
On March 20, representatives of the Yemeni government and the rebel group said they had agreed to exchange 880 prisoners after talks in Switzerland mediated by the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
