The Russian President will talk with the country's leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Russian President Vladimir Putin will be on a two-day visit to Uzbekistan, where he will talk with the country's leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev, reported TASS.

This is Putin's third trip abroad since the beginning of his new presidential term (the inauguration took place on May 7).

Putin and Mirziyoyev will discuss the current state and prospects for further development of Russian-Uzbek relations and strategic partnership, and will exchange views on current regional issues.

The heads of state will also take part in the first meeting of the Council of the Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan. In addition, several joint documents will be signed during the visit. Putin's first working meetings in Uzbekistan are scheduled for the evening of May 26.

The last time Putin visited Uzbekistan was in September 2022 to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. Mirziyoev recently came to Moscow for Victory Day.
