Trump still without verdict

First day of jury deliberations ends

The jury in the trial of former US President Donald Trump ended the first day of deliberations without reaching a verdict. However, the 12 jurors asked to re-hear potentially key witness statements, the Associated Press reported, citing BTA.

The trial that began last month in New York against Trump on charges that he bought the silence of porn actress Stormy Daniels about their relationship is historic. This is the first criminal proceeding in the US against a former president.

Jurors, who asked to hear the judge's instructions again yesterday, were sent home after about four and a half hours of deliberations. They will gather again today.

Trump called the trial "very unfair." "And Mother Teresa would not be able to fight these accusations, but we will see. We'll see how we'll manage," he said on his way out of the courtroom.
