Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that they big things happened in yesterday's elections for the European Parliament, in France and Germany, which he will have to discuss with his advisors, Tanyug reported, quoted by BTA.

„I have to think and look at everything, because big things happened both in France and in Germany, and I have to think (...) with my colleagues, make serious analyses,“, Vucic said last night to Tanjug during the event "European Election Night 2024", organized by the EU Delegation in Belgrade.

He stressed that he fears he has been proven right about everything he says and that there are "tough times and great burdens" ahead.

The head of the EU Delegation in Belgrade, Emanuele Joffre, assessed that the presence of Vučić, as well as a large number of representatives of the political, economic and scientific circles, at the event “European Election Night 2024” in Belgrade shows that there is great interest in the European elections in Serbia, Tanjug reported.

Joffre added that he expects the enlargement of the European Union to remain among the main priorities of Brussels.

"Of course, this parliament will have a lot of work ahead of it, it will have to elect a new president of the European Commission, and it will also vote on the composition of the commission itself. The parliament will have to appoint key persons who will deal with the Western Balkans, added Joffre.

He assessed that the desire of the European Union is to accelerate its expansion to the Western Balkans, but also to Ukraine and Moldova.
